The Rowland Family

Of course there always has to be a story when I’m involved…I met with the Rowland Family at Negro Bar for our portrait session, and of course we couldn’t go without having a few extra visitors…Geese!!!  With my luck, flying overhead, one of them chose to leave a present on my camera equipment…not so kind of that goose.  In any case, the lake was beautiful and the Rowlands were a fun group…even though I said to the kids I wouldn’t snap a photo until I saw their teeth, lol! ;-)Hey, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do!  They showed me teeth as much as they could, so they did not have to take any more photos, haha!  Hey, whatever works!  Toward the end of the session, we had some pretty funny conversations going on to get everyone smiling and it paid off!

Cassidy & Cade

Cassidy and Cade…two kids very near and dear to my heart.  I love these two kids, and oh boy…I’m tearing up as I type those words.  I won’t get too gushy here…let’s just say these are two more kids I’ve known since they were born.  Cassidy is just 15 days older than my first born.  They are two of the greatest, bravest, most courageous kids I know…both full of life and have much to give to this world.  I can’t wait to watch them continue to flourish, and as always, will enjoy continuing to photograph and document their journey into adulthood.

I have known Cade since he was born, and it has been a pleasure watching him grow to the great kid he is today.  So, he doesn’t always like to have his photo taken, but he knows when I’m around he has no choice but to smile, because I’m just going to make him laugh anyway!  He gets a big kick out of my crazy stories.  Anyway, always great fun to hang out with Cade and looking forward to seeing him continue to flourish.

Cassidy…whoa, this awesome girl has overcome such hurdles, more than any teen should have to.  She was diagnosed with a brain tumor in the 7th grade, and courageously endured chemotherapy and radiation to battle this hand that had been dealt to her.  Cassidy will turn 18 in June of this year, and I could not be more proud of the person she has become.  She is taking her experience and using it to help children going through similar experiences…about to head off to college and study Child Development, and later focus as a Child Life Specialist….the wonderful people Cassidy could not live without during her difficult times in the hospital.  I’ve photographed Cassidy for as long as I can remember, and have so enjoyed watching her blossom to this amazing, strong, fine young woman that she is.  Cassidy has nothing but great things to give to this world, and I can’t wait to see her do it.

The ‘entire’ Woods Family!

This was the largest family portrait to date I have been asked to take!  I’ll admit, I was a bit nervous, unsure how I was going to pull this off.  But in the end, I was quite pleased with how the photos turned out.  The reason for these photos, is the children wanted to give their mother an updated portrait of the entire family, including the grandchildren.  I had to swap a couple heads, lol….since not everyone was smiling and this was the best shot, but it all worked out in the end and mom / grandma was pretty darn happy!  As for the guy in the purple shirt?  Yah…that’s Mike!  Don’t ask, lol!  I suppose he wanted to be original and yep, he succeeded!  We will always remember the purple shirt, that’s for sure!  I can joke about it…he’s a friend! 😉
